Are your breastfed babies still nursing (or even comfort nursing) in the middle of the night?

Anyone in the process of, or thinking about night weaning for your baby? My babies consistently wake up at least once a night to nurse, and I really want to break the habit. Started trying to cut the overnight nursing short last night and my one twin went ballistic. Between the two of them, we were up for over two hours. 
Any advice or share your experience please!

My son is nursing and comfort nursing MANY times a night but I don’t plan on weaning until he decides he wants to self wean.

I just night weaned last week and it went way better than expected. Here's what I did:
-First I cut down to 1 feeding a night. (my son starts the night in his crib and halfway through the night he would come into our bed and co-sleep.  When cosleeping he would want to eat all the time (like 3-4 times a night) so I made sure to wear a high neck shirt to bed and not let him nurse any of those times). I only fed him the first time he woke up (that is when he would eat the most anyway). He was cranky about it for 2-3 days but it wasnt awful.
-after 3 days I started dream feeding for that one feeding. By that I mean that I picked him up and fed him BEFORE he woke up. If he woke up on his own I would put him back to sleep and then feed him once he was asleep. I usually fed him around 10:30/11
-after a couple days of that I shortened the dream feed to about half the normal time (he didn't seem to care at all)
- then next thing I know he stop waking up to eat all together! It was easy peasy!

I will need to work on it soon for when I switch my schedule and am gone a few nights a week. If I put the effort in now, I can just pay his bottom and get him back to sleep, but nursing him is easier and I’m on my own for now, so we go with what gets me more sleep.

My  son would literally wake up every 3 hrs on the dot. I cut out the closest one first and worked my way down.  At first hed need a quick rock and some love, now he has consistently slept through the night for almost 3 months. He wakes up very hungry and ready for his sippy of breast milk and breakfast sook there after!  For my son, his night feeds were habitual. He barely ate longer then a few minutes so that's when I knew he could and would be ok weaning the night feeds

Our pediatrician said at 4 months “don’t feed at night!” and then even more so at 6 months, literally yelled at me “just don’t feed her and that’s it! Do you want her teeth to go bad?” I tried several times but it didn’t work, she still wakes up at least 1-2 or sometimes 3-4 times a night to feed. She doesn’t eat much during the day, so maybe that’s the reason. The only “improvement” I could achieve is her accepting pumped milk from a bottle so at least I’m able to finish those feeds quicker and go back to bed instead of her comfort nursing for 30 min each time... I don’t know when I’m going to be able to fully wean from night feeds. I guess I’m not as concerned about my sleep as I am about her teeth - is it really that bad? She’s had 8 teeth since like 7-8 months.

We stopped breastfeeding completely last week she’s on 2% milk now so at night she’s just been waking up to be comforted back to sleep. And calm down folks she’s guna be one in ten days 🙄

We night weaned at 9 months & it was truly the best decision ever. We get SO much more sleep now! I do have to say it was a rough couple of weeks transitioning, but I had my fiancé go in and comfort him instead of me while he adjusted to not being fed
