House ideas

Hi everyone! Sorry if this isn’t where I should post this, I wasn’t sure! So long story short me and my fiancé are moving at the last second before our baby is due next month. We were going to get a really nice condo but at the last second he told me that we weren’t getting it and his parents bought us a house... so this is what it looks like. This needs some work. We’re getting stainless steel appliances and we’re going to make the wood look nice. But does anyone have any color ideas for the walls? Or any ideas of what might help it look a little more expensive and put together? Maybe new door handles on the doors and curtains for the windows? Should we paint the wood around the windows for more color? I don’t really know what colors to go with or where to start with this place, so any ideas I’d really appreciate!
