first time mom & I need opinions PLSSSS!!

Tori

this is long but if someone can read and give some advice I would appreciate it so much.

okay backstory:

a longggg time ago (like, before I was even thinking about having kids) my mom had once said “you’ll want me with you in the delivery room trust me” and since then I’ve just been like okay whatever she can be there what do I care?? 🤷🏼‍♀️

fast forward to now (31 weeks almost, due 5/18)

my husband and I are reallyyyyy rethinking having my mom in the delivery room with us. first of all I know he’s not thrilled about it and I can see his sides of course. the more I think about it, the more I would really like it to just be my husband and I. I want to be able to make this decision together and I think we’re both on the same page. so now, with all the virus stuff going on, the hospital we plan on delivering at is already on restricted visitation, but I don’t have any info on how many people they will allow in the delivery room. I was kind of hoping they would say mom + dad only for delivery, so I could just tell my mom “sorry it’s protocol” but by mid-May who knows what the restrictions will be. So, let’s just say, restrictions are lifted (or less strict) how do I express to my mom that I don’t want her in the delivery room anymore? I obviously don’t want to hurt her feelings!!!!! We haven’t talked about it in a while but I know she still 10000% thinks it’s still okay and has like always planned on being there and now I’m just not so sure. can anyone relate or help? thanks mamas I’m torn 😞
