Birth control help

Okay hi so, I’m nearly 20. I’ve never had a boyfriend but have slept with two guys - wore a condom with both of them. Recently I’ve been thinking about maybe getting birth control so I can enjoy sex a bit more without using a condom. Would it be worth it? I’m worried about messing up my periods as they are regular and light and I don’t want birth control messing it up. Should I just wait until I find a boyfriend? Thanks.
