Did you have a sip n see or something after baby was born?

Question

Did anyone on here have a sip n see or a party after baby was born? If so how was it? 
Did you find it stressful as a new mom and did you feel uncomfortable passing your newborn around to so many people?
I ask because unfortunately this may be our only option for some sort of baby shower (virtual is not an option as a lot of our guests are older and not tech savvy).

Did this with my oldest, twice. Both were really nice, each side of the family got to meet her seperately and i got things that we actually still needed instead of all the newborn stuff. I got to have some baby-free time while other people took over holding the baby, and i had an excuse to disappear if i needed a break from anyone (introvert)

That was pur plan but now that is also unfortunately cancelled. I let my aunts plan it and didn't plan it until she was two months.

I'm Jewish so we skip the shower and do a Bris or baby naming before this virus thing. I actually prefer it over a shower. We did not pass the baby around and no one even asked to hold the baby. My husband, mom, or I held the baby only and people could come sit by me but no one was like "can I hold him"....I think most people know not to expect that. I'm really not into showers so I really liked that it celebrated the actual baby. We also didn't announce the name except to immediate family until the event, so that made it exciting as well.

I’m debating on doing one due to the same reason. I’m thinking waiting until baby is a couple months old

I would personally forego any sort of party at all before doing a sip n see. I had a lot of visitors in and out during the first couple weeks, and large amounts of visitors ends up getting overwhelming. People will want to be holding your baby and passing them around. Will anyone try to kiss baby? Will anyone make sarcastic comments when you ask them to wash their hands before holding baby? More people lack common sense than you think. I’ve had someone cough in their hands while sick and try to grab my baby’s hand afterwards. I would be a mess the whole time if I had one of those parties.
