Who's responsibility?

Question

If you lend something to someone, who is responsible to give it back? It could be anything, clothes, a book, tupperware, etc

The person who borrowed it, but if it’s been a while I feel like as the owner you should reach out and be like “hey! Are you almost done with that book you borrowed a few months ago?” Or whatever. 
Some things though, like Tupperware, I’m never sure if people actually want them back so make sure you specify

Isnt the lender and the owner the same person? It would be the lendee.

I think it’s a mutual thing. The borrower should return it with in an acceptable amount of time and if not then it’s the lenders responsibility to make sure they get it back. Kinda like paying your bills lol.

If I lend something, I never have the intention of getting it back. I assume it’s gone 🤷🏼‍♀️

I never lend anyone anything and expect it back. If someone asks for money, clothes, i ask myself if I can just give it to them. If it is something I need back, I say no. Otherwise I give it to them as a gift and I don’t ever expect it back. It’s obviously the person who borrowed’s responsibility to give it back, but unfortunately many people borrow something like money or whatever and then realize they can’t pay it back. Then they cut you off because they feel guilty that they can’t pay you back, Then relationships are destroyed etc.. so I just don’t let anyone “borrow” anything. I have had wayyy too many bad experiences.
