Itchy genitals

Hey y’all. So I recently had to start using tampons because pads are seeming to irritate me and make me itch. I had to wear pads this period and today was my last day. I was bad and scratched at it when it started itching yesterday 😭 Now- the outer portion of my vagina and up by my anus (it also extends out a little past that towards my thighs) is red and the edges have dry, flakey skin. When I touch the red portions, it’s almost slightly wet. I put antibacterial cream on it and I’m trying not to touch it to scratch because it still itches pretty bad. Does this just sound like a rash from the pad?
