Falling over

My babe is 8 months old, and pulling himself up on everything! Along with this are a lot of falls. When he falls he usually cries for a minute or two, but it’s nothing a few mommy kisses can’t fix. I’m worried about this causing some kind of brain damage though and I’m wondering if I should just stop him from doing this? I should add, the floor where he does most of his standing (and falling) practice is carpet and laminate.
