Silly Pandemic Requests
Maybe I’m just dramatic or still irritated from being in 91 degree weather and my apartment being 81 degrees inside despite blasting the A/C and closing all the windows (sorry for the rant, but I’m still hot af) but... this seems like a silly ass thing to ask someone during a pandemic.

I LOVE ART and I’m an artist myself and quite a few crafters or people who do embroidery as a hobby follow me. I’m all about supporting others work and even more so during times like this. Hell I'm even working on big projects currently and even I'm missing things I need
But did this man really ask me to send him one skein of thread?!? Not once did he mention paying for the thread or shipping also. He lives in New York as we all know New York is at the heart of this pandemic along with a few other key states. Everything is closed except the essentials, as a friend relayed to me, but this may have changed. I live in Florida and the cases are steadily climbing here. I received a county side text for people to remain home, especially older people.
Btw this is what he asked for. I don’t even have the shipping materials or printer to be going out and running his craft emergency.

I think it's the audacity to ask for such a trivial thing that he honestly could've ordered himself if he was really desperate and in need of this damn pink thread. When I first read the message I was like damn... Is my safety the equivalent of .56 cents (DMC is .56 cents on the ground and some online sellers) and whatever shipping would've been as well as the already hard-working postal service?!

Also some backstory, dude is a veteran and very, very pushy. He let me know early on that he's retired from the military even though he's quite young. We only chatted a few times through DM and text message when I was in New York he got really pushy about wanting me ditching my family and hang out with him... a complete stranger in a state unknown to me. And to say that he likes men so I know I'll be safe. Since when did being gay make anyone less dangerous???

He starts conversations off and exits them just as quickly. As you can tell I complimented a project of his and he clearly doesn't respond ever again until it's time to ask for something he wants during the most inconvenient time imaginable. He is just someone I chat with who's a fan of my art and I try to be as nice as possible, but I cannot entertain him anymore lol. Literally by tomorrow, he will be asking if I looked for the thread and if I can send it to him again.
As I'm writing this I'm way less irritated and more amused by the silliness. Whats the craziest things you’ve seen people planning to do or actually doing while they're supposed to be social distancing? Hell share anything stupid you’ve witnessed since Covid-19 was announced.
