Membrane Sweep UPDATE
Update: Camden is here! Had my membranes swept at 9am was 2cm and 75%, cramping about 2 hours later. Contractions got regular but not painful around 3pm while we were walking. By 5 they were uncomfortable. Called my midwife around 8, came to the hospital at 9 was 3cm and 80%. Fully dilated after she broke my water at 115 am and he was here in 2 contractions at 1:29am. 6lbs 8oz!
Anyone have their membranes swept? My midwife is offering to do it tomorrow at my apt. I'll be 38+4.
I've been having false labor on and off for days, painful contractions coming and going for several hours at a time. Its driving me crazy. Last night I even thought my water had broke, had contractions for a few hours after, they got painful and regular for a while then just stopped suddenly and whatever I was leaking (really water discharge?) stopped. I had been in contact with my midwife to let her know what was going on.
I'm already having a hard time mentally with all the false labor taking its toll on my sleep, add the coronavirus on top of that and the fact that I'm an RN (on an OB/NICU floor) and my family is begging me to stop working (which I will discuss with my midwife tomorrow as well now that we have had our first positive case in town). I also have a history of postpartum anxiety and depression but am off my meds for this pregnancy. Anyways, I dont want to get my hopes up that this will work and have it not so what are your stories? I will definitely express my concerns to her tomorrow.
I'll add my first son came at 39 weeks on his own, no pitocin, 11 hours of labor, no epidural.
