PSA: Babies should have zero screen time according to the WHO ... oops 🙊
Just thought I’d share with the June mommas in case anyone was wondering why their baby is such a crappy sleeper (like mine!).
Last month, I saw a poster at the pediatrician’s office saying that babies under 18 months should not have any screen time. At 3am this morning, I finally googled why.
“Screen viewing before age 18 months has lasting negative effects on children's language development, reading skills, and short term memory. It also contributes to problems with sleep and attention.”
I’ve been playing nursery rhyme videos on TV and on my phone for my son because he just doesn’t seem interested in his toys and I run out games to play with him. And lately my mental state has been all over the map. Putting my son down for naps and bedtime has been terrible as of late. My hubby and I spent an hour putting our son down for a nap this morning. He was clearly tired with his droopy eyes and constant yawning. Hoping to go somewhat cold turkey with screen time today 😬
Thanks for listening!
