Weaning?

Hi ladies. My son is almost 16 months. I am a school nurse so I'm suddenly home with my son all day every day instead of him going to daycare and me working. When I was working he nursed morning bedtime and woke up overnight.  Now he wants to nurse before nap again and just random times he will ask. I dont mind that. However for the past week he has woken up like every hour all night wanting to nurse. I'm exhausted.  My husband is working. I'm trying to homeschool my other 2 kids. Honestly I think it's just time to wean all together.  Or any tips to night wean?

My son was doing the same thing at that age for a couple of weeks. Apparently there’s a 16 month sleep regression. I was in the process of weaning my son but then decided not to because of the virus. It’ll protect him if we were to contract it. We are also in a high risk zone and my husband is essential worker. I know this isn’t very much help but my point is... that it might be more beneficial to hold off on weaning. Waking during the night won’t last forever but whatever works the best for you and your family.

I first stopped my morning nurse with the twins when they were 22 months old. So it was only before bed and if they woke up. Next I stopped nursing when they woke up. Was a little harder but we managed. Then it was before bed 😩 I think this was the worst one. But we were completely off of the breast by 23 1/2 months. Now they still squeeze my breast and will ask for milk but I’ll just go get their cups instead. I’m due in 19 days so I’m praying they don’t regress

Find a different routine. My son is 20 months and weaning. Instead of laying down with him I drive him in the car to sleep but we are under lockdown soon and I’ll have to find a new routine. Sigh
