Laundry alternatives

Hey everyone! Just looking to get some advise for what to use for our kids clothes. We've always washed our babies clothes with an ivory or just a free and clear detergent with no problems. Now that my oldest is getting bigger I was looking to find alternatives for fabric softeners and dryer sheets since we've never used those when doing his laundry. Anyone have any recommendations for products without harsh chemicals that will still help keep his clothes soft and static free? Thanks!
