Baby ok?

17w6d today and I haven't felt him yet and I don't look pregnant :( I also have an anterior placenta so I have a hard time hearing him on a doppler :( do you think he is ok?

I think he is fine. If there is no cramping, bleeding or hard pains then you baby is fine.

I had a AP with my previous pregnancy and it took awhile to feel consistent moving and even then sometimes is would go what seemed like hours without feeling anything. With the Doppler I seemed to find her heartbeat a lot lower than I ever thought it would be, even at the end of pregnancy. It was weird I’d go to the Dr and they’d find it higher, but I never could on my own!

I did not have an AP with my first, but I still don’t remember feeling movements until close to 22 weeks. I’m 19 weeks with my 2nd and possibly just now BARELY feeling movement. I’ve heard dopplers can be tricky. I have never had one myself.

I’ve heard with anterior placentas it can take longer to feel baby move and hear their heartbeat because the placenta is between you and baby. You should be able to feel baby around 20 weeks, hang in there!

Try looking lower than you’d expect. I never had a hard time finding mine when I had an AP, it’s just tricky finding the right spot and maneuvering the wand. Try angling it towards your pelvis! 🤞🤞🤞

I have an anterior placenta and find him in about 10 seconds every morning. Look lower
