Mother-in-law won't let us use her laundry...

So a quick back story. My husband and I rent from my mother in law. It's an in law apartment where we have everything separate except we use her laundry. We pay a pretty normal amount of rent, not a family rate or anything. I am currently 26 weeks and we were planning on cloth diapering.

Which she was excited about. Because she did it and if you do anything similar to her she is pretty sure it's because she is hot shit and you strive to be like her in every way. 😂 Joking aside she was supportive and even bragging about it. Until she learned we planned on washing the diapers, you know, ourselves.

She used a diaper service. Which is great but we don't live in or near a city and from just a cursory look I can't find one that serves our area. She basically said if we can't find one we can't cloth diaper because the hot water would cost too much and (not in these exact words) we aren't capable of actually getting them clean and we are going to accidentally hurt the baby because we will never effectively clean the diapers. 🙄

What would you do? What would you say? I don't want to be a jerk, even though we pay a very standard rent it is her house. But I can't find a diaper service and even if I did I am not certain we could afford one. I landed on just telling her we would go to a laundrymat or something just to get her off our backs because she is obsessed with talking about it. But she insists that 30 years ago there was a diaper service in a city we don't live in so I'm just being lazy if I can't find one. And she says that if I do it the house will always smell like poop and I may as well do disposables. Which I'm not sure would solve the smell issue as the baby will still poop and the diapers will still exist whether they are cloth or disposables.

Should I just give up on cloth diapering all together? (The gif is just a joke. She is generally a nice person. Just a very stubborn one.)
