Is it weird to ask Dr for cervical check?

I’m only 25 weeks, I have had a lot of cramping and am going to mention it at my appointment next week, I was thinking of asking for her to check my cervix to make sure I’m not dilated. Would this be weird/ unnecessary? I don’t know why I think it’ll make me feel better if I hear I’m not dilated but not sure if it’s weird to ask.

It doesn't hurt to ask your Dr about the feelings you're having, but if it makes you feel any better, dilation means nothing, good or bad, until you're in active labor. 
Labor contractions that would cause dilation are so strong and painful that they stop you in your tracks, you can't talk through them and you have to concentrate on breathing through them.

Completely unnecessary. Even later on in pregnancy it’s unnecessary. You can be dilated for weeks and weeks and it doesn’t matter. Or you could not be dilated and go into labor that same day. Cervical cheeks just increase risk of infection

I have a lot of cramping/BH and it turned out it was because I have a short cervix. So no harm in telling/asking your dr

I had cramps around that time and figured out it was gas lol. BHs are also common. I was just lucky enough to not have them until about a week ago (35 weeks). Sometimes pelvic pressure also can feel like contractions. Especially if baby is head down!

Braxton hicks are completely normal right now especially at 25wks. I'll be 25wks on Easter and have the same, This is my 10th baby. Further along you get? The more your gonna notice these getting stronger and stronger each week. I don't think there doing anything dilation wise. If your hurtin in pain when you have them to were you feel you need to see a doctor? Then those are the ones to worry about. But I wouldn't worry
