Can you have symptoms before a BFP?

I’m only 9dpo, but I’ve been having a few “pregnancy symptoms” the last couple of days. I tested with an IC this morning and it was negative. 
Is it possible to have pregnancy symptoms but not have enough hcg to cause a positive test yet, or is it just hopeful thinking and it’s just all pms symptoms?

Any and all early pregnancy symptoms (or af symptoms) are caused by progesterone. The same hormone rises before af as does in pregnancy, so chances are any symptoms you get are not of hcg and are probably going to be very similar to before your period.
A bit later on (usually around 6 weeks) is when the nausea starts for a lot of people due to rapidly rising hcg.

I mean I can’t say I really know about mine but the only thing is I kept thinking my period was coming because I would have light cramps but then I became a week late so I told my husband to get me a couple test waited a couple hours and took them and they came back positive. So mine would just have to be the growing pains. I didn’t actually start noticing symptoms until after I found out I was pregnant I literally took naps and slept allll the time. Lol and had nausea and vomiting.

Looking back, I definitely had symptoms early. Around 6DPO my breasts/nipples were extremely sore
Around 7DPO my breasts starting leaking (granted I was still nursing baby #1 BUT I haven’t leaked in almost a year)
Around 9DPO the extreme fatigue hit me hard
9DPO I got a negative pregnancy test
11DPO I got a vvvvvfl
12DPO I got a BFP on a digital and regular test
BUT, early pregnancy symptoms are so similar to PMS symptoms it’s really hard to tell
