Issues with ebay buyer trying to scam you to get their $ back?
edit @ bottom
Has anyone else ever experienced this? What ended up happening?
My boyfriend sold his Xbox one on eBay back in November. He had a 14 day return policy on it. A couple weeks after getting it my boyfriend asked if all was good. The guy said yes. He still has this message. A couple days ago my boyfriend got a notification that this guy was asking for a refund because apparently the Xbox broke. My boyfriend politely addressed the fact that his 14 day return window was over, he had confirmed that the Xbox was working when he got it, we had never had any issues with it and he would not be getting a refund. Well, yesterday we got an email from both eBay and paypal that this man has filed a dispute to get his money back.
For anyone that has gone through this, where do we go from here? Obviously we are NOT paying this man a dime. I don’t care. He broke it on his own and that’s not our responsibility.

So today we found out that PayPal actually took money out of my boyfriend’s account and gave him a negative balance. After we submitted our explanation they let us know they have to contact the man’s financial industry to TRY to get the money back, which could take up to 75 days. I’m fucking LIVID. $200 may not seem like much, but with everything going on right now it’s what will make sure we have food for the next few weeks. There’s no way in hell this dude gets to break a perfectly good Xbox AND scam us. I will fight this🤷🏻♀️
