Boyfriend frequently texts female friend

So never thought I’d be bothered by this because it can quickly turn controlling, but I’ve noticed my boyfriend texts a female friend everyday who has visited and slept over his place before.

I only noticed because a text came up when he was on his phone next to me and she had a contact photo. Then he asked me to charge his phone, and I briefly saw a message saying something like “how about you help me now?” as we were going to bed.

I got cheated on last relationship, so I might be overreacting... but what are some of y’alls perspective on this? (I don’t want him to stop being friends w this girl necessarily).
