Should i text him?

So my boyfriend had a bad day today which i completely understand! Everyone has bad days! I have been so loving all day and giving him a little extra love and affection today, he called me on the way home and was lashing out on me over everything i said and then said im gonna go and i said okay cause clearly he just didnt want to talk. I havent heard from him. Should i text him or let him cool down?

I think allowing him space and letting him cool off while letting him know you’re thinking about him is what I would do. Just don’t have an expectation for a response. You could text him and say “hey, I know you had a rough day and things got tense between us for a minute. Just wanted to let you know I’m thinking about you and I hope tomorrow is better!”

If you haven’t yet, I’d strongly urge you to learn what he needs from you on a day like this where you know he’s got a lot going on. You being super lovey to him, while in your mind should have made him feel better, actually could have made him more irritated when he really just needed space. Some people feel like they mentally can’t breathe when someone is trying to smother them with love when they’re upset or having a bad day.  Please dont take offense to this I’m just speaking from experience 😬
