Is it right for him to be mad about this? My body, my choice...

Is it right for a guy to get mad at his gf over what birth control she’s on? I used to be on the pill, but everyday when I’d take it, I’d instantly get nauseous as heck and it’d make me feel like absolute crap the whole day. So I went to get it changed yesterday and the only two options I had were either the patch or the IUD, and the iud isn’t recommend for girls who have had an abortion because the chances of having an expulsion of the iud are pretty high, and my dr even told me he recommended the patch for me because of how little I am. He said people over 180, he doesn’t recommend the patch for bc it’s not as effective but if I put it on at the times I need to, then since I’m so little(110 pounds), it’s like 98% effective. But my boyfriend is mad bc he said the pill is more effective and that with the patch, he’s apparently looked up a bunch about it, it’s not as effective. But it is. I even straight up told him that I wasn’t going to keep taking something that made me physically sick all the time, and he goes “well I’m just saying we should probably start saving up money again because we’re gonna be going back to planned parenthood”. Like wtf. No we’re not. I didn’t want to stay on something that made me feel crappy all the time, to the point where I would literally have to force myself to take it everyday just because I didn’t want to constantly feel sick anymore. I mean, I understand how it could be right for him to get mad, but like I said, the pill made me incredibly nauseous, and when I was on the shot, it made me bleed for weeks at a time. I just feel like, if he understood how taking the pill made me feel every time, that maybe he’d understand...

Btw, I’m 17 almost 18, he’s 19...
