Do you wake your baby for nightly feedings?

Specifically breastfeeding moms. Do you wake your child through the night to feed, or let them wake you if they are hungry?

Depends on the age, but generally, I would say to let them sleep.

I’d never wake a sleeping baby unless instructed to do so by Dr for weight concerns. Otherwise you’re just asking for trouble 😂 don’t poke the bear!

I did until he passed his birth weight as per the advice I was given by the hospital and doctor.

I woke my baby every two hours until she returned to her birth weight.
After that my doctor said she could 4 to 5 hours 
Once out of that newborn phase I just let her sleep and woke when she was hungry

Only for the first couple weeks until he regained his birth weight and his jaundice went down.

We were never told to wake our son. I'd say ask your pediatrician or midwife if you're unsure. That being said our son never slept longer than a couple hours away.

No I never woke her to feed. First 5 weeks she woke up when she wanted, then she started sleeping 6-8 hours and I never got up. She’s 6m and still EBF sleeping 8 hours usually 😊

I always thought it was important to establish supply and demand while breast feeding. If you skipped feedings your body thinks it doesn’t need that much milk
