Wedding shoot but no wedding?

Idk how to feel about this but a year ago i got married at court. In a couple days will be our one year anniversary and I thought a photo shoot would be a good idea. I couldn't find a nice white casual dress that i liked at various stores, but I went to a thrift store and found a wedding dress that I loved that was in my size! What are the odds? Its my favorite style and a davids bridal dress worth hundreds of dollars. I paid $19. Would it be odd to take a photo shoot in a wedding dress even though i havent had a wedding yet? And when is it too late to have a wedding?
