Does it get easier?

Currently going through tough times I never thought I would! Me and my ex had a baby (our son) he’s now 2! And we’be been through so much but honestly I’m just happy he’s grown up and matured to be a dad! But he wants his new girlfriend to meet him and I’m just not ready.. it hit me like a ton of bricks obviously we haven’t been together for 2 years but it still hurt 😔.. does it get any better?

It will get better. If his gf is a good person, and treats your son like she would her own, then you are one of the lucky ones. You will be thankful that there is another person who will love and look after your child. Im a stepmother. My husbands ex was horrible, stopped him seeing his daughter before we got together. He managed to get access once we had been together over a year. I supported him through the court process etc. She hated it. She hated me. She tried to make things difficult even when the courts said she could be around me.
Five years down the line, his ex and I have a brilliant relationship. We can talk on the phone for hours and she has told me how much she respects me for always being there for not only her daughter but for her as well. X
