Is this a spy cam?

I found this the other day when my boyfriend stood up, I guess it fell out of his pocket. But I want to know what it is. I asked him, took a picture of it and sent it to him and he texted back saying “lol did you think it was a camera or something?” And then when he came back in the room he said it’s an adapter USB that can also be used as a laptop webcam. I said ok and moved on. But since then I have not seen it. We have a MacBook Air, but the camera works fine on it. So I’m wondering what it’s for. Honestly it dont look like a normal USB it looks like it would have a cord attached or something.
I’ve literally never seen anything like it so I was curious as to what it is

It looks like a spy camera. And why would he having it in his pocket? Hmm the whole thing sounds fishy. Is he spying on you when he's not there. That's my guess. Something seems off about it. I just hope he's not cheating on you and going places and using it to record nasty things idk.

That is definitely a cam with a micro-SD port and USB port. I would have checked that card.
