Is it dangerous to use wood varnish while pregnant?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I’m a FTM and honestly just not sure. I know most paints are pregnancy safe if in a ventilated room but idk about wood varnish? We got a hand-me-down crib and it’s peeling a bit so I want to fix it up before the baby comes (she’ll be sleeping in a bassinet for the first bit so not in too much of a rush) I would get my s/o to do it but he’s kinda useless when it comes to this stuff, no offence to him lol. I’ll be 32 weeks tomorrow.
