New Moles on my 8 1/2 month olds head

So I'm a FTM and I was looking through my sons hair today because we took him outside and I was checking for ticks and he has a bunch of moles on his scalp. I've never seen them before so they must be something new but there's at least 10 if not more. I didn't get a picture of it but I will tomorrow, sadly he will be asleep by the time I get home from work. They are all small, some bigger then others but still small. Should I be concerned? I plan on calling out family practitioner on money when they open but I just would like some opinions.
