How do I get my inhaler sooner?

Can someone help explain this to me? 
So I need my inhaler. I’m almost out of it. I had a virtual doctors appointment for something else and during I told my doctor that I am going to need a refill because I have been having so much trouble with my breathing that I am going through my inhalers like crazy even though I’ve been taking all my meds like usual. He said “okay I’ll call it in” I called the pharmacy and they said it’s not ready to be picked up until the 24th and that the doctor called it in that way. 
I have like 4 puffs on my inhaler. So I do just call my doctor and say i need it faster than that? I’m not sure if my doctor made it that way or if my insurance made it that way. I made it super clear that I needed a refill. 
How do I go about this to where insurance will still cover it? Because with insurance it’s only $8 and without insurance it’s $60 and I don’t have $60

It’s going to be your insurance. You’ll need a prior auth filled out by your doctor to get it early and that can take days. You may be stuck paying out of pocket. First thing you need to do is call your doctor.

Sometimes pharmacists can fill scripts early, so it’s worth asking the pharmacist if there is anything they can do. But if you’ve been taking it as prescribed, then you should (theoretically, of course) have enough to last you until you get a refill, so sometimes they can’t do anything to help

If you are going through inhaler so fast, you might want to ask your Dr to prescribe breathing treatments with a nebulizer. For our son, he uses ventolin inhaler when he is having breathing problems. They prescribed him a nebulizer with albuterol during a stint with RSV since he was having to use his inhaler so often. Afterwards we asked if there was something else we could do for him and they prescribed flovent, a a treatment he does twice a day. Since them he has not had to use the nebulizer or ventolin inhaler. Leave your Dr a message explaining your situation and ask for options to treat your asthma.

It’s very likely that the insurance won’t allow for it to be refilled sooner. I’m on medication for my migraines and my doctor tried to up the dosage to give me more pills because the insurance only allows for 9 pills per month. She hoped that upping the dosage would allow me to break them in half to double the amount but it didn’t work, all it did was just say to take 2 instead of 1 so I did get a few extra pills so instead of 18, I think I get about 12 and I can only get a refill once a month and I’m not allowed to get them any sooner than that because the insurance won’t allow it.

Its probobly your insurance, and then theres nothing you can do other than use a store card or a good rx card to get it cheeper than the 60 bucks
