Do high blood pressure meds harm baby?

I’m 28w and was put on high blood pressure meds. Are there any personal experiences you all have where the meds were perfectly safe.

The meds are much safer than letting your body go without while pregnant. If your doctor put you on them, there is nothing to worry about.

Some aren’t safe. I was on a beta blocker called propranolol that isn’t safe after the 2nd trimester due to it decreasing blood flow to the placenta. So I got changed to labetolol.

Some bp meds can be dangerous. I’m on one that is considered safe for pregnancy (labatelol) Enalapril and lisinopril are just two that can be dangerous to baby.

I’m pregnant with my 5th child and have been on blood pressure meds since my first when I was 19. It has never had a negative effect on baby. But if you don’t take them and get preeclampsia which I still did with one it can be fatal to you and baby.

I did for my last pregnancy and my son is fine. Idk if I will have to this time around just yet
