Baby shower timeline?

We are due September 23 with our first baby. 
We are not doing an in-person baby shower not matter what the government says about safety as I won’t risk myself or my baby or any of my family members. 
My question is... when to actually plan the virtual shower? A month before EDD? Sooner?
( I want it now so I know what we need to buy but know that isn’t feasible or “proper” 🤷‍♀️🤪)

I'm also due the 23rd, I'm going to do mine at the very end of July on because it's right before school starts and it gets crazy with buying school supplies and getting ready for that is enough in itself. There is no telling what it will be like this year. One last hoorah before summer ends and school begins. Plus I won't be huge and miserable.

it took polls on here on opinions about whether my shower would be too soon and most ppl dont care when. i just had ours this week- the day before i turned 24 weeks. had a good online turnout and lots of gifts. i think it helped that i sent out the invites 2 weeks ahead and said wed open any gifts we got by the shower date on live video

I’m sure September 3rd & planning mine for June 28th when I’m 30 weeks. I’m 25 weeks today.

I’m due Sept 22nd and we have planned it for July 25th which puts me a few days shy of 32 weeks

I’m also due September 23. I have one scheduled for July 25 and one for August 15. I wanted plenty of time to organize, wash, and clean everything in addition to seeing what else we need. Congratulations!

Due 9/11 having shower 7/11, I guess in case baby goes early and to give us time to prepare and make sure we have everything and get what we still need

I’d do at least 6 weeks before. You want to know what you have and what you don’t have before baby coming, so you have time to buy the essentials you didn’t receive. Gives you time to finish shopping and still be prepared if baby shows up early!

My best friends are planning mine for July 5th. (Roughly 2 months before delivery @31 weeks) We are doing a drive by for guest to drop off gifts on my front lawn with thanks you’s handed out then a virtual gift opening is to follow at a specific time. 
Our close family such as our parents, siblings and best friends will stay for a back yard social distanced cookout. (My backyard is huge and could easily fit 50ppl 6ft apart if we so choose but it will only be about 15ppl FYI).
