I’m 22 weeks pregnant and planning for a baby shower (depending on his this virus goes) and I was talking to my father in law about locations and that stuff and he had this idea.

His niece (our neighbor) just found out she was pregnant. She is maybe 7 or 8 weeks at least and I’m significantly father along than she is. His brilliant idea was that we have a double baby shower. I told him no IMMEDIATELY and he asked why. I told him it was My day and my husbands (and of course the baby) and he made a face like he didn’t like that. Here is my reasoning as to why I said no.

1.)We have been living under their shadow for almost a year and have been compared to them over and over again making us feel like they were much better than us.

2.) I already know the gender of my baby and I can already pick a theme

3.)I cant experience hardly anything with this pregnancy because of the virus, so I wanted the baby shower to focus on me and my husband and the life WE are having. She will have her chance at a baby shower but am I wrong for thinking that it isn’t fair for him to get mad because I don’t want to share that day and make it about her baby too?
