Glucose test at first prenatal? Please no rude comments

Had anyone else had to do this at their first prenatal appt? I’m not against doing it, however, I have PCOS and have bee following low carb /no sugar for the last 6 months, which has been the only way to regulate my cycles/ovulate. I’m worried if I do the glucose test it’ll throw my hormones back out of wack and cause me to miscarry. I’m sorry if this sounds stupid but whenever I go back to eating carbs and sugars my pcos comes back full force

Have you ask if you  could use a blood sugar check machine to check your blood before meals and  after.  For couple weeks or so instead of  the glucose test.

they had me do my glucose test whenever they confirmed my pregnancy. I hadn’t even had an appointment yet.

Due to hormone issues and ALWAYS having sugar in my urine even though my blood tests are always in the normal range, it was mentioned to me that my doctor may do my glucose test earlier than they normally do. My first pregnancy I missed the one hour one point and then just barely passed the three hour. I’m only 13 weeks and they haven’t mentioned it yet but I may have to do it earlier. I really don’t think drinking that will throw you out of whack that much to the point you’d miscarry. Talk to your doctor about it but if they have reason to be concerned, I would trust them and do what they’re asking.

I’ve only ever had to do it at my 28 week appointments. I’ve never heard of them doing it any earlier than that unless they suspect you have gestational diabetes.
