Sex before 6 weeks

So I am almost 4 weeks post delivery with my first baby. Had an emergency c section but got to 8cm dilation. I am so ready to have sex mentally and not in any more pain. But I know vaginally I should still wait but it is getting so hard. Especially because since the moment I found out I was pregnant my husband and I could not have hot sex/I could never finish since I mentally thought it was weird. Just wondering who actually waited the 6 weeks and who hasn’t. And if you didn’t, how long did you wait and did anything happen?
