Get rid of bed bugs with no exterminator ???

Question

I just moved into my first apartment and the 2nd week we found a bed bug crawling on the bed. We contacted a exterminator. They said to send them pics of the bed and said that there looked to be no signs of bed bugs. But now a month later we found another one ! Just one we can’t find anymore. Idk what to do Because the landlord said we are responsible for the bed bug treatment and idk where they came from or where they are hiding. Idk what to do .. I’m at my breaking point. Help please, ive never had bed bugs in my entire life !

Are you sure it was a bedbug? If an exterminator said there weren't signs of them, it may not be that. There are a few other bugs that look similar that could just be coming out now that it's getting warmer.

I saw one and steamed my couch with a clothes steamer a few times and I haven't seen them again. You should wash everything and dry them super hot.

You have to steam everything. The beds,floors, carpets,walls, couches an everything. Get lavender spray. They hate lavender. Need to wash everything and dry it. need to steam every  week until you know they're gone because they can hide really deep.we had to get rid of a couchs an chairs. Also can get bed bug stuff offline. You're going to be doing all this stuff every once a week until you know they're gone. So you're going to need to report this to your apartment owner so they can let others know so they can have their house done they travel between places you might get rid of them but they might come back if they don't get rid  in the other apartments. Trust me I went 7 months through hell get rid of them.even had company come out heat the house up to 150 degrees it didn't work.it took us seven months of steaming and doing everything ourselves to get it to actually work.

Unfortunately, bed bugs will migrate and you can transfer them to your couches and chairs and car, etc, so they may already be in those places. Bed bugs like to hide in the crevices. Lift up the corners of the top of your mattress around the edges. That's where you'd find them if you have them. You'll see the bugs and black spots. I highly doubt the exterminator would have been able to see them from a picture of the bed. I know rubbing alcohol kills them but idk how well it really works or how often you have to treat. I would get rid of your bed, if you can. Vaccuum EVERYTHING that can be vacuumed and then empty your vacuum cleaner right away as they can crawl out. They are a nightmare to deal with. Best to get a handle on it while you can. Good luck to you!!

Put diatomaceous earth (FOOD GRADE bc non toxic) everywhere. Leave it for a few days. Vacuum/clean it up and they be gone. Works because the structure of the crystals tears up their bodies.

They also are extremely active at night! That’s how I found them. I felt tickles and you have to be fast to see them! They run and hide inside of cracks and crevices of blankets and mattresses and walls sometimes. I got SO fed up and upset when we got them! I know how you feel. I wis you luck. OH AND CLOTHES!!!! Hot water ASAP and dry them!!!!

I mean if we’re being honest here we got them from one of my old friends NEVER had them before. Blankets pillows throw away and bed too. I get it, it sucks. All furniture lift up against the wall and cover the outlets with tape they hide in there, go buy some spray put a mask on and spray the hell out of the apartment you might not be able to be in there but it’s the best way to do it I swear. Throw some fans on and that’s that. We treated 2 or 3 times to be safe.
