Baby car seat no more than 30 mins

Today a friend told me that a baby should not stay in an infant car seat (the ones that come with the travel systems) for more than 30 minutes because it’s dangerous. She told me that for longer drives I should look into buy one of those seats that can be reclined to keep baby in an almost flat position and still like this do not pass the hour until baby is 1 yo. It’s quite difficult because I live in a very remote area and often in the weekend we travel 1 hour to go places and the closest airport is 2 hours away...how you guys do? Any suggestion?
