one on one time?

Question

how often do you give your 4 year olds your undivided attention? like how often  do you play dolls, chalk,  on the trampoline, etc with your child esp if they're an only child? just asking as i cant even get my house clean bc my child wants my undivided attention ALL DAY. she wont sit in her room and play with her toys whatsoever like at all. if shes playing with toys she brings them to where i am and trys to include me in playing as im attempting to do dishes, etc. outside she will not do anything unless i am too.  like playing in the sandbox or on the trampoline or even drawing with chalk. if i tell her go in her room and play she literally just sits there for 10 mins and then asks if she can "be done playing".... just looking for some advice or tips to make her be more independent playing.  i obviously feel bad but I'm truly at a loss here.

Also mommy to a 4 year old little girl. You say that your daughter will try to include you in her playtime and this prevents you from doing chores. Why don’t you try to include her in your things instead? My daughter loves to help with laundry and put the dishes away, you can make it a game too ie find matching socks, divide clothes by colour, or help dust around the living room, etc... that way you can still spend time together while getting your things done :)

I hate my answer because I’m a horrible mom. I feel like I don’t do any of these things with her because I’m working full time and in college. Along with that I try and go to the gym and clean and she’s 4 and I haven’t seemed to get a balance 😞

This comment may not be any help but it may help destress the stigma around your day to day... ten years down the road from now you aren't going to remember the unloaded dishwasher and upswept floor you had to hold off to play dolls with her, you are only going to remember and be thankful for the time you got at this age. Buttttt what I have had work sort of well is you can also include her into cleaning and let her know that it would be such a big help and praise her for it or say if she gets something done with you she can get this much extra time to play or have a certain food. Patience and independent play also go hand in hand you could work on activities that get her to that point so everyday you teach her to be patient with you and up every day by 5 minutes.

Here is an idea I have
Schedule certain times of your day (I'm thinking like 3 15 minute periods) that you will play with her and give her your undivided attention. Lets call this "kid time". Try to make one of these times shortly before bedtime. During these kid times, follow her lead in play, dont try to multi task or get other things done, and dont check your phone. Be sure to give her lots of eye contact and direct attention. 
During the other parts of your day have periods where you multi task and can maybe play with her a little (let's call this "multi time") and then periods that are specifically set aside to do what you need to do called "mom time" (she can join in on these times but you are the leader.
Talk to her about the different parts of the day and how they differ. Explain to her what each of your roll is during these times. When it comes to a time that she wants you to play but you are preoccupied you can let her know that its multi time so you can only play a little, or that its mom time and you are busy but she can join your task.  You can then remind her of when the next kid time is and that you are looking forward to playing with her soon.  It might be helpful to have a list or jar of ideas to help her keep herself busy while she waits for kid time (have her help make the list when she is in a good mood).
