Baby with reflux

Penn

Our six week old seems to have some reflux issues. One of the biggest signs of this was how fussy he would get during and after feedings. He would wiggle a lot, whip his head around, curl up in a ball, and stop eating. Getting through a feeding was a nightmare. We have since found some remedies that works for us; one major thing that we noticed helps A LOT it holding him upright for about 20-30 minutes after a feeding. We are now trying to establish a nighttime routine for him, which includes: bath (not every night), bottle, story, and bedtime. Everything I read recommends to never put a baby in bed asleep, that they should be awake and put themselves to sleep. I understand this, but our problem is that since we have to hold him upright after every feeding, he falls asleep on us, and inevitably we put him in his crib asleep. Does anyone have any suggestions?!
