How to get rid of rats in your car

So I have a rat infestation. They are not in the cabin, but living under the hood in the air vents and under the motors/fans. We’ve tried poison, kill traps, and pointing a light on it at night with the hood up. Nothing is scaring them off.

We live In The country and don’t have a garage so they have free range all over our property.

I’ve read that mothballs and peppermint can deter them...but I haven’t tried them yet.

Anyone I’ve tips or tricks you can share?
