Would you get a gun license if your SO is not eligible?

Question

I always thought my husband would have his, and I wouldn’t need to worry about getting mine. But upon looking at the requirements for our new state he doesn’t qualify but I could. 
He does work away sometimes and I am alone with our son. 
Yes, I would take courses and all the necessary precautions and yes I know he will not be able to use it.

I personally would but that just because I live in Texas. I am not pro gun but with everything going on in the world I would just like to know that I can defend myself If needed. Just make sure to check local city laws and how to store it!

I think it would depend on why he didn’t qualify. If it were something serious I wouldn’t want a gun around to begin with. Though I wouldn’t be with someone I wouldn’t trust with a gun to begin with. So I’d say it depends.

I'm not interested in having a gun. My boyfriend wants to get one when we move into our new house in the next couple weeks but I really don't want him to. I don't want to live in a house where there's a gun.

For me it’s a yes. I’m not pro-gun by any stand point. For me a gun is useful in what I do for a living. I wouldn’t have a gun for any other reason, personally. If my SO couldn’t get a licence then that’s fine. It’s not his gun anyways. I have plenty of friends who’s SO own guns and they aren’t licensed themselves. Their SO uses the gun for hunting generally. It’s not an issue for them.

My husband and I both have our fun licenses and 2 guns...like someone else said I don’t love the idea of having them. But in the event I would have to protect my family I am glad we do. My husband works a lot of OT sometimes overnight. I have an 8 month old and I’m pregnant. As a mommy I hope to never have to use any weapon...however there is piece of mind knowing I have protection.

It would depend why he wasn’t able to get one. We have guns in our home - locked in a safe. I believe in protecting yourself if you have to. I saw some comments on here about they would never get a gun in their home. It’s the people that make guns dangerous.

I’ve been through some hard shit in my life and I’d rather be prepared next time and have the means to protect myself . And no I’m not going to call the cops and hope they show up or even care about what had happened .

I was hoping to apply for my gun license soon since i was supposed to be moving soon but I seriously doubt anyone’s permits will be approved for a while due to the riots and looting

Depends on why they aren’t eligible. If he legally is not allowed to own a gun it’s probably for a reason. Are you in the US?

Depends on what the requirements are and why he doesn’t qualify. If it’s not because of a felony or mental illness diagnosis then I would. Both myself and my SO have ours. My gun goes everywhere with me.
