i want to get tested for stds without my parents knowing. i’ll be 18 in 2 days and i have my gyno that can do it. i just don’t want my parents finding out. how can i do that without them knowing? i know it can be confidential but how does that work with payments or insurance? how much does it usually cost to get tested? and would they call me for the results or?

You can have it done through your physician without no one knowing, however if your insurance is with your parents they will see lab orders but no exactly what was for. If you wanna do it away from insurance Google: std test center near me. 
There are places you can walk in totally private. Prices can vary depending of your state/town.

Once your over 16 all medical things are confidential (age could be lower now not 100%). However they can only find out if you give doctor permission to give results to your parents, or you tell them yourself.  Also normally phone with phone calls they normally don’t give those results over the phone unless you give them permission when talking. They normally never leave a voicemail with results. Don’t be embarrassed or anything everyone gets std tests. It’s better to be proactive and get tests done then to just assume everything is fine. For price I’m not 100% sure where I live I can get it for free just by going to planned parenthood etc so you can always just call and ask.
