Is parents taking money of their kids to live there selfish?

So I pay £200 a month to live at home it’s not a lot I know it’s cheaper than a house and I don’t mind paying it at all. But my family are always like yeah we don’t even need the money we just waste it on rubbish but we charge her to treat her discipline. Like wtf it doesn’t discipline me at all and if you don’t need it why take it from me? I’m young and when your young you want to be out spending money and making memories with your friends therefore they need the money. I understand if your struggling but if not what’s the point
