Am I THAT interesting??

So I’m not complaining it just curious. I don’t post constantly on here but I try to help when I can. I get at least one follow a day if not 3-4. Lately just constant. I had a notification for my May followers and the list was sooooo long. 
I’m not really sure what following really does? Just wanna know if I’m that interesting 😆 I don’t even get nearly as many in any other social media platform so this is all new to me lol

I honestly don't know what following anyone on here actually does. Because I have a few and I follow a few. But they don't show up first in the feeds, I'm not notified when they post or comment. Like nothing. I don't understand what following does. It seems to serve no actual function on here.
