How can I work with a broken toe nail at work ?

I broke my toe nail last Friday. And today I went to work but they send me home because my toe nail started bleeding and it was hurting. My toenail it’s purple right now. I didn’t put a bandage when I went to work today and I put some flats on. I work as a cashier at a grocery store I’m 18 btw. How can I go back to work I haven’t work in a week and I need money to save up for my car. Is there any shoes recommendations.
