It’s finally my turn to tell my story

Ta

June 1st at 3:40 is when it all started. I woke up to change positions and all of a sudden I hear a pop and I’m covered in liquid my water broke. It got all over my bed it was just everywhere. I took a shower and laid down and took a nap for a few hours. Around 8 my boyfriend woke me up to go to the hospital. We arrived around 9. I’m so glad with everything going on Nick was able to come in with me. We got put in this very tiny room where they checked to see if I was dilated and tested fluid to make sure my water did actually break before they admitted me. Someone came in and took some blood. They were also monitoring baby’s heart rate. I was 1cm dilated and my water did indeed break and everything with baby looked fine. They got us settled in a much bigger room, where everything was all set up for baby to arrive. We get settled in. A few hours later they started to get all my IV’s hooked up and start my Pitocin to start my contractions. They told me I had 18 hours to deliver her. I did have to get tested for the corona virus ( it’s really not that bad ) in between the nurse coming in to check on us I was napping and the nurse was upping my Pitocin to make the contractions stronger pretty much while I was sleeping so I had no idea. They had to give me nausea meds so I could eat because all I was doing was throwing everything up. A lot of just waiting around at this point. On June 2 The contractions were getting stronger and not really consistent it seemed like I was having them all at once and then they would just stop. I held off as long as I could but ended up caving and getting the epidural. Once I got the epidural I pretty much went back to sleeping in between nurses checking on me. Still upping my Pitocin. Fast forward to that evening around 4. At this point drs were coming in to check to see if I dilated more which I did we are up to 8 cm at this point. The words c section did come up once or twice. Didn’t really think anything of it since I was dilating. So around 8:20 the dr came to see if I was dilating anymore, we are up to 9 1/2 cm at this point. I had a few drs and nurses in my room kinda felt crowded. The Drs kept saying those words c section. At this point I had no idea what was going on or what was going to happen. We have been in labor at this point for 41 hours. My nurse was trying to hook the baby back up to the monitor. They could not find baby’s heart beat. She looked at my Dr and then all of a sudden I’m getting rushed to have an emergency c section. Baby at this point was giving up. She was coming down the birth canal at an angle. I remember being so scared because nick was not with me at this point. I had nurses in my face telling me it was going to be okay. They do this stuff all the time. I was in good hands. I’m crying out for nick but it seems no one cares. I was crying because I didn’t want it to have to come down to this and my nurse was reassuring and telling me that just because I have a c section it doesn’t make me less of a mom. I was just mad at my self because I got so close just to have to have a c section anyways. At this point they got me on the operating table getting me prepared. Everyone was moving so fast and all I kept saying was I wanted Nick. The nurse at this point was calling to see were he was. Nick finally arrived. It seemed like everything went even quicker once he walked in the room. At this point it was 8:30. Nick is finally by my side and At 8:34 my beautiful daughter was born. Once she was born nick went off with the baby. I had lost a lot of blood and I tore down to my bladder but did not tear my bladder. I was shaking so bad at this point because of the meds they had to wrap me with warm blankets which didn’t help. Nick came over with the baby. I got to see her beautiful face. I was in love with her already. So shocked at the fact she looked so much like me. I could see nick he was just so happy. I’ll never forget that look on his face it was pure love. The nurse that was with me gave me something that made me really sick. I have no idea what was going on but I just felt loads of pressure on my stomach area where I was in tears it hurt so bad. So at this point I’m shaking and throwing up. I just hear someone say they are going to put me under because I shouldn’t feel anything. About 3 hours later. Next thing I know Im getting wheel back into my room where nick and my daughter were waiting for me and I finally get to hold my baby girl.
