Anyone still struggling with breastfeeding?

I agree. 12 weeks too. His latch is a little shallow so it’s never been fun. I didn’t discover this until 6 weeks and couldn’t correct it. I hate not knowing if he’s full or if I’ve just given up because it hurts and I’m over it at each feeding. When he’s fussy I always wonder if he’s getting enough food. It makes me feel like a failure constantly. My baby is not a nice eater either. He tugs, twists, chomps, and gulps like a maniac. I don’t enjoy it at all but pumping is so much work. If it wasn’t for the health benefits from breastfeeding I would totally be done.

Bf has been such a struggle for me. We’ve had latch issues, supply issues (we’re combo feeding/supplementing with formula), nipple shield, mastitis, clogged ducts, and an infection that is eluding antibiotic treatment. It’s gotten better but man is it tough! At 12weeks now and I’m trying to stay motivated to continue. Kudos to all the mamas out there doing their best to keep it going despite the set backs!

Awesome job on 12 weeks so far! That is a lot of determination, especially if it’s a struggle. I’m sure you’ll get a lot of this: have you seen a lactation consultant? You can even do an online visit! There’s a Facebook group local to me all about breastfeeding and support, there’s several lactation consultants there. Good luck mama!!

Breastfeeding was so hard for me I kinda stopped and just went to just pumping and feeding from a bottle. My nipples hurt all the time regardless if I was breastfeeding or pumping. 14 weeks and counting here just trying my best to feed my child the best I can! I still breastfeed when he’s fussy and when he’s feeling a little under the weather. 💁🏻‍♀️

My first was so easy going when it came to breastfeeding. This one makes me work a bit. He hasn't been gaining quite as well and I'm not really sure why. I definitely produce enough and can tell that my breasts are emptying. I've been focusing alot on massaging my breast to break up the fat and not switching breasts too quickly.

I've had mastitis 3 times and he's only 12 weeks. It's so painful! I still plan on breastfeeding until he's all done. I did it for 18 months with my first.

This time it’s been rather easy for me. Only the first two weeks were difficult. But with my first baby, I had all kinds of problems with breastfeeding. It only got better after my son was 4 months! After that, I never had any pain or any problem with breastfeeding him again. I ended up breastfeeding him for 2 years. I weaned him becoz I got pregnant. Otherwise, I would have continued. It was really really worth it. Hang in there! It will be for you too!

I disliked it for all 20 months I did it with my first. Completely different experience with my second, loved every second. My thirds been somewhere in the middle but I know it’s mostly due to lack of support due to covid.
