Second Baby Shower; Tacky? Rude?

Do you think having a baby shower for your second baby is tacky or rude? And if you’re first is a boy and your second that you’re expecting now is a girl? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I personally don't think it's rude or tacky. I think every baby should be celebrated. Have a shower. Have a sprinkle. Have a cook out whatever makes you happy! I didn't have anymore after my 1st because things like that give me anxiety (where I'm the center of attention - I broke out in a rash all over on my wedding day from anxiety lol) but I LOVE going to other people's!

Why celebrate one and not the other? No matter how far apart they are. I personally feel parties will have who’s meant there or not. Shoot, the costs to decorate and feed people outweighs the gifts sometimes people choose or choose not to bring to me. 🤷🏾‍♀️

My husband’s family celebrates everything, so I’m having another. My son will be 4 this year and I gave a bunch of stuff to friends in need so I’m just registered for things I need. But also I’m having a girl this time. My friends also were begging me for things I needed so I thought this was the best way to let everyone know what to get. You also get a coupon to buy things you need so that’s another reason I did a registry

I’m not having a shower. My first was a girl, and this on is a boy. I’m due November 5, and my kids will only be 17 months apart. I don’t think it is tacky if there is a major age gap. With mine being less than two years apart, I feel it would look tacky. 
On the other hand, my cousin had her two boys 22 months apart, and her mother in law threw her a shower.

My youngest will be 6 when this one is born. I have two girls, this is my first boy and we will not be having a shower. I feel like it’s more of a ‘new mom’ thing. I got rid of all my baby stuff but feel it’s not up to others to buy me new things. I’ll just shop consignments or online for everything till he gets here!

I can see how it might be perceived as a gift grab. Other than gendered clothes, my first thought is you must already have most of what you need if your babies are close in age. I think if it’s smaller and more casual (maybe a backyard “baby-q”) it wouldn’t look tacky. 
Maybe without a registry too? Idk I’m torn on that... 
I personally wouldn’t think less of a friend having one, and I’d attend it. But the gift I’d give would be much smaller. Normally for a very close friends and family I spend $50-150 on a gift (depending on the person). For a second baby shower, I’d personally five closer to $25-50.

I personally felt the same. But I’m having another one because I want to celebrate my baby’s arrival. I have a 8 month old little girl right now and I’m expecting another girl in November. I don’t need gifts and I wouldn’t be asking. I just want to have a celebration for baby with food, drinks, games, fun. And personally I have everything I need for this little girl and buying more. So either way it’s up to guest if they want to get anything. I know a lot of people just have diaper showers for second borns also.

Its not tacky. Every baby deserves to be celebrated and loved. Ive given a majority of my baby stuff away. My son will be 2 when baby girl is here so I am having a sprinkle.

I think it depends on the situation.... 
I had a friend who had a second shower but in the last 2 years before she had a baby shower for her first, a gender reveal, an engagement party, a bridal shower, a bachelorette, and a wedding. It was a lot in a short period of time and it really did feel like a cash/gift grab! In her case it was tacky! 
For me I did have a second shower so to speak but my situation was different...... 
I had my first shower 7 years before and raised that baby as a single mom for years before she met my now husband when she was 5. 
When my husband and I got pregnant with our first together but my second I didn’t want a shower but his friends and family wanted to celebrate as it was their first baby in the family. 
Instead of a “shower” we did a “pregger Kegger” he and I threw a big bbq with a keg and told everyone we had registered if they wanted but would be happy to take hand me downs or diapers as gifts. No obligation to buy new. Just come party! 
Honestly his mom got us the car seat we desperately needed since my older daughters had long expired but the best gift I got was a garbage bag full of hand me downs from other moms. So helpful! 
I think just consider your situation and then decide....... nothing wrong with celebrating! Just don’t ask for too much! 
I’m having my 3rd now and his second though he considers my oldest his own and we havnt even announced! We figured those who were close to us know and when the babies born we will announce like “surprise world we had a baby” lol
