Any eczema babies?

My little guy won’t stop itching his neck and as much as i catch him to pull his hand away he still rubs it to where it’s raw in some spots. I’m hesitant to use hydrocortisone cream cause last time i used it he started screaming. Any suggestions before i call the ped tomorrow? Last appt the ped just said to use coconut oil but only use hydrocortisone no more than once a week on his body and once a month on his face.

Yes we’ve been dealing with it for a few months (and I have it personally too). We’ve tried multiple cream (use creams - not lotions - they create more of a moisture barrier) but have found the must success with plain cerave and aquaphor. You need to put it on at least 4-5 times daily so we do it with every diaper change. We ended up needing a prescription for triamcinolone which is a slightly more potent steroid than hydrocortisone that we just use on the bad spots as needed/when he’s itching uncontrollably! Cotton clothes only, non-scented detergent/soap.. if bad on the neck use a bib the whole time awake so it’s harder to scratch there.. keep nails short.. it’s the worst but I’ll take a skin problem over many other bad things!

My baby doesn’t have ezcema but I know that if you make breast milk soap and/or lotion that will really help the skin with natural ingredients!

Yes my baby boy has it pretty bad. We end up seeing an allergist and he prescribed a steroids oil to get it under control because nothing worked not even the cortisone. Now it’s much easier to manage and he’s more comfortable. In the beginning we used the oil twice a day but since it’s under control we only use it when he has flare ups.

My guy has some. I use aquarphor then some sudocrem on too of that and it does to keep things at bay.

Yes. My boy has eczema too and itching behind the neck too. His ped told to use epaderm ointment. It’s not a miracle cream per se but it helps soothing the skin and he itches less. Must keep applying 2-3 times per day minimum. It doesn’t cure but just manages it without using harsh chemical.
