Should I Forgive Her?

Question

Yesterday I updated y'all on my husband. He has brain damage from a motorcycle accident. My cousin was supposed to watch him while I went to the store and I come back to her raping him while he is dazed and in distress. I pulled her off him by her hair and my husband didn't even recognize me or what was going on. He freaked out and I took him back to the hospital... We have pressed charges against her. My mom was MAD at me and said I ruined her relationship with her sister. My cousin added more trauma to my husband. He's had a few episodes and has been wetting the bed. My mom then bailed this bitch out!
Today my mom called me saying she wants us to be a family again. Not even really apologizing. We have to deal with a rape case and my husband's brain damage. I don't have time for her... However she is my mom... Should I Forgive my mom. Could you Forgive your mother for doing something like this?

I read your first post in bed the other night and actually read it to my husband straight away. We were both horrified for your husband and you!.
We are so sorry you are both going through this!.
Why should you forgive your mother?. Unless you want too of course. 
I mean the fact she bailed your cousin out may have been to save her relationship with her sister but to me she chose her sister then over her daughter. She shouldn't have bailed out that bitch!. She hasn't explained or apologised to you. No you shouldn't forgive her. That was a horrible thing to do and a horrible gesture towards your husband and you.
It's sad to say but sometimes people genuinely get on with life better when they are away from relatives. Including biological parents. My husband and i have no contact with my biological parents or biological brothers who live a 5 minute walk from us and we have no contact with his biological mother or biological brother who live a bit further away. Neither loss of contact is from anything like you have been through but we were wronged by both biological relation sides. We have all had no contact for over 5 years. Yes its sad. We did nothing wrong. We are actually a lot happier couple and people now. It has allowed us to see things from  an actual clear perspective and have grown from the lack of negativity that impacted us.
You owe your mother nothing!. She fucked up. You have no need to forgive her.
It's totally up to you in the end.

Woah, first, I’m sorry you have to go through any of this! Second, if roles were reversed no way would your family be supporting the male raping an incapacitated female!! Why would it be forgivable in this instance!? 
My goodness the amount of trauma this has added for this poor guy! This would make me nervous about any children ever left in her care as well.
I really hope that she is found guilty and has to register as a sex offender for the rest of her life!

I've never forgiven my mom for even smaller things. Absolutely not. She's not even sorry or seeming worried about you and your husband. She can kick rocks.
