Needing some advice..

My husband and I are in a really tough situation. My husband has been with his job for 5 years now. We have a 21 month old daughter and I’m currently 27 weeks pregnant. In the beginning of the year he was offered an opportunity to transfer into a new department. Without a doubt he decided to start the process of transferring , which is extremely long and tiring. We at the time did not know we were expecting baby number 2. So here’s the situation. We have 2 choices. Either stay in the job he has now, which he would make over 100k by April. And this pay would be the highest he would get paid for the rest of his career. This job is a 5 work day and 2 days off. We were recently pre approved for a home loan and were to start looking for our first home the begging of next month. We are already familiar with this job and his schedule and not to mention extremely comfortable.

Or we take this new position where we would be taking a 15k pay cut. To then get 140k plus but only after 7 years on the job. Because of the pay cut we would have move into the upstairs of my in laws for the time Im on maternity leave because without my income and his pay cut things would be pretty tight. But that would also mean we would save a lot on not paying any rent. This job is a 3 day work week. And is a lot safer than the job he currently has.

We are so stressed out. They are both good jobs but have different circumstances. I’m terrified having a new baby and being in my in-laws but I also don’t want my husband missing out on a good opportunity. The new job would be low on money for the first couple years but it would also be 40k more in the long run.
