Early period? Or not?

I am 20 and I am bleeding 7 days before my period, it’s not like a full blown period that I can tell right now (more of a heavy is spotting) I’ve never spotted before or bled this early. I am really stressed (husbands deployed overseas) so I am just gonna go with stress being the reason. I was just wondering if anyone has even been through this? Is my cycle like changing or is this normal to happen every once in a while?
